Allow Approvers to Edit Specific Cells in a Custom Report During Approval

Overview

The approval workflow has been enhanced to allow approvers to edit predefined cells.
You can now restrict which approvers are allowed to edit, depending on each approval stage.

Normally, approvers cannot edit a submitted Custom Report. However, by using this feature, you can allow only the approvers at specific approval stages to edit designated cells.

For example, if a cell requires an approver’s stamp, you can assign the corresponding approval stage and allow editing so that the approver can input their stamp during the approval process.

How to Configure

Editing during approval can be configured from the “Register input item” screen within the Custom Report settings.
In the “Edit During Approval” section at the bottom of the screen, turn ON “Allow editing by the approver.”

When “Allow editing by the approver” is turned ON, you can specify which approval stages are allowed to edit.

By default, “All approval stages” is selected. If you want to limit editing to specific stages, select the desired approval stages.

You can select approval stages from 1 to 20, and multiple stages can be specified.

About Restricting “Editing Before the approval request”

You can restrict cell input before the approval request.

When “Disable input” is turned ON, no users—including the requester—can input data into the cell. Only approvers at the stages where editing is allowed will be able to input data.

For example, by disabling editing before submission for a cell that requires an approval stamp, you can prevent the requester from accidentally entering the stamp.
